How AR/VR might affect the future of work

David Savage

Episode Summary:

In this BetterTech episode, David Savage, Group Technology Evangelist, Nash Squared talks with Amna Omer about how AR/VR might affect the future of work and why companies are also beginning to look into AR/VR as part of their recruiting and HR experiences.

Show Notes:

1. AR/VR Technology enables the candidates to change their avatar and appear as someone other than themselves like characters in metaverse during an interview, reducing biases and judgment of their capabilities.

2. The VR-based platform allows employers to monitor their actions in real-time to eliminate the chance of cheating, helping them effectively evaluate and hire the most fitting talent. Cutting-edge technologies like AR and VR can make a real difference – streamline systems, build engagement, and selection smarter, simpler, and faster.

3. The biggest barriers to the adoption of AR/VR technology are that the equipment & hardware use is not readily available and it’s extremely expensive. And access to data is not easy.

4. Metaverse is bringing a blend of personal and professional identities and information and there is hesitancy regarding this aspect and people are not comfortable and are concerned about the security and privacy issues associated.

This episode is hosted by Amna Omer, Global Communications Manager, Tkxel.
