How robotics is changing data analytics

John Crupi

Episode Summary:

Robotics has visibly transformed industries. Today in this BetterTech we have John Crupi, Chief, Autonomous Environmental Robotics at Kick Analytics, LLC, with us to talk about how robotic and analytics are emerging. John explores what would be the future trends for companies with automation software and the challenges without these technologies and automation.

Show Notes:

1. Robotic and analytics are connected. Anything that can move and have mechanical parts to function is robotics. In terms of robots, sensors take readings from raw data, perform the analysis, and tell us what is happening now and in the past. So merging robotics and analytics is not just looking at a point in time. It’s looking at things all the time.

2. Industry 4.0 is the next phase of the industry. Taking this secure environment, operating it securely, and putting it in a way where organizations are comfortable is a massive task. Manufacturers need to have a lot of resources and knowledge to exchange data and apply analytics to robotics.

3. Risk and security are the key challenges when merging robotics and analytics. The manufacturers need to have enough insights about analytics and architectures to integrate the analytics across robots.

4. Robots move and do dangerous things, but having analytics as a part of them and their infra helps reduce the risks associated with them, providing the company or person with control.
